DECORATIVE PAVEMENT
Decorative paving can give a brick or stone appearance to your pavement that provides it with extra “curb appeal.” This can make your property stand out at a much lower cost than using brick or stone. And it is much easier to maintain.

Decorative paving looks fantastic and has many advantages over brick or stone. It is much less costly to install. It is a much quicker process which means less downtime for your pavement. In many cases it can be installed up to 90% faster. If a portion of the decorative pavement needs to be dug up due to a utility concern or for some other reason, new asphalt can be reinstalled, printed and colored to make the area match almost perfectly. Patches in brick or stone almost always stick out like a sore thumb. There are also many design patterns and colors available for use.

The Process:

New Pavement
  • While the pavement is still hot, it is imprinted with special templates to provide the texture. While brick imprinting is the most common, the possibilities for stone, cobblestone, Belgian block, etc., are virtually limitless.
  • A final traffic-bearing coating is then installed.
Existing Pavement
  • Existing pavement that is less than 3 years old can also be imprinted.
  • An infrared machine is used to reheat the asphalt, one section at a time.
  • Then the process is the same as for new pavement.
