Traffic calming devices are used to slow cars down in sensitive areas. The most commonly used devices are speed bumps and speed humps that are install with asphalt. These can be installed when the pavement is new or at a later date depending upon need.
Rubber, plastic, and polymer traffic calming devices are also available.
Rumble strips are used frequently in high-speed areas to control speed as well. Ask your Pavement Network professional for advice on traffic calming devices.
